  I'll be honest, I only came here because the other 2 restaurants in the area were full.
  This is a run of the mill diner, no more, no less.
  I had the fish and chips and while they were made in house the plate was senior citizen sized.

  This place was not the best choice of restaurants in Almonte. Actually the worst possibly.
  
  Upon entry to the place at 8 pm the waitress gave us a disconcerting look as they closed at 9 pm and the place only had 2 tables occupied/almost finished. I guess she wanted to close and leave early.
  
  Our waitresses was yelling at the cook as well during our service. They were yelling so loud and arguing to the point where other seated patrons started looking around to see what was going on.
  
  Upon enyry I noticed the place itself is actually falling apart and little repair has been done to the place to fix it up. Once you get past the sticky floors, ripped vinyl booths, cobwebs, chipped/gum filled tables you get a menu. A falling part stained peeling plastic menu. This menu has not changed in at least a decade and the food options are extremely standard for a extremely casual truck stop place.
  
  We got a pizza as that was easy and this was for two people. The other person ordered the veal and onion with fries. The pizza was Allright but the mushrooms and veggies were ginormous chunks and strip. They bled out in the pizza to making it soggy. Definitely nothing to fancy.
  
  The veal was drenched in a ocean of gravy and the fries were just from a bag. Once again, nothing to fancy. Later that night the veal was causing extreme stomach problems and bathroom issues.
  
  The sandwiches were probably a better pick!! Definitely wouldn't recommend this place based on the attitude and service of host and cook.

  Classic family feel, it's like going back in time. Hot hamburger and chicken club are fantastic. Service staff are not great.

  Been going here since I was a kid. Really nice place and super friendly staff. My grandmother lives in Almonte and loves going for coffee here. They're really good to her.

  This was a very nice dining experience. When we arrived the place was packed. It was a Sunday at lunch time, so we expected it to be busy. There was only one waitperson working but she handled the volume admirably. At one point, a friendly customer assisted by bringing coffee, utensils and placemats to customers. He even brewed a new pot of coffee at one point. You have to love that small town mindset. Despite the volume of customers and lack of wait staff, our food actually came very quickly; the food arrived within 10 minutes of us arriving. The food was actually fantastic. I ordered a chicken burger platter with poutine. The chicken was not dry and was quite tasty. The poutine had one of the best gravies I have ever tasted on it. The coleslaw that came with the platter was so-so (typical of this type of establishment). The only negative I found regarding the food was that the poutine had grated cheese instead of cheese curds. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch and breakfast. I can't speak to the dinner experience, but if I had to guess I would say it is probably excellent as well.
